John Hollis (1931 - 2005)

More sad news to pass along...
Jeremy Bulloch (his SITE) reports that actor John Hollis (Lobot in The Empire Strikes Back) has passed away after a long illness. He died on October 18, 2005 in London.

There's little known about his personal life...he was married to Sheila and loved golf...but his credits were fairly extensive. He worked in film, TV, theatre (mostly in audio plays) and radio. Hollis attended quite a lot of conventions in years past and was very kind to all his fans.

Leah,
Really glad to see you've mentioned John passing also, TF.N have a piece on, as does Lightsabre.
It's awful, this past week has seen William Hootkins, Michael Piller and now John Hollis go. At the risk of sounding gruesome, websites are beginning to look lile obituaries. I guess that's the curse of the original trilogy being almost 30 years old - the faces we grew up with are now starting to pass on.

Hi Mark,

The strange thing is that there wasn't any "news" anywhere about Mr. Hollis passing...other than the word of mouth at TF.n and at Wattographs. Mr. Bulloch seemed to be the only one who really (officially) knew.

Yeah, I just heard (through an email) that Michael Piller died.

It is awful.

*sniffle* Good-bye, Lobot. May the Force be with you.
