Jeff Coopwood


Jeff Coopwood was born on June 29, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois, US but was raised in Miami, FL.

Coopwood was named Best Actor in the State of Florida by the I.T.S when he was in high school, studied opera and earned a theatre degree from the University of Miami while singing with the Miami Opera (4 years.)  Graduation came and he was on tour with BNT (Broadway National Tour) of Timbuktu!  

He teaches and lectures on speech and debate (he was a three-time State Speech & Debate Champion/two-time National Speech & Debate Finalist) at various high schools and colleges across the country, including Harvard, Northwestern, Georgetown, Marquette, Emory, Pennsylvania and Miami Universities.

He currently lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.

Recipient of both the U.S. Treasury Department's Alexander Hamilton Medal and the George Washington Medallion.

Has sung with Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo and Leontyne Price with the Miami Opera.
