OK...Just Leave Star Wars Out of It

Star Wars comments always come back to haunt or taunt politicians, when will they learn to just say no.
*shakes head*

Actually, Mcain's response doesn't make any sense. Romney was talking about the Presidential run as something in the distant future and then Mcain tries to compare his Star Wars reference to something geographical.

It's clear that Star Wars and politicians just don't mix.

The worst offender was Reagan. George got back at him though! No tour of the Ranch, and the honor of having a certain cowardly and slimy Neimoidian who is the final victim of Anakin's Separatist slaughter on Mustafar named after him and Newt Gingrich.

I remember in 2000 when McCain compared his bid for presidency with Luke flying down the Death Star trench.

In my local newspaper someone wrote in the Opinion section that they were not going to turn to the Dark Side. This was in response to someone who wrote a letter saying Republicans should abandon thier party and vote Democrat.

A politician needs quotes and" sound-bites" to be memorable and understandable, there is nothing that says it has to makes sense or be even remotely true

And it's worth it just for the laugh, I'm sure they'll keep us rolling our eyes for years and years to come.

Being from the UK I've obviously heard of Senator Mcain through his run for the White House but know little about him.
Is he a genuine fan, does any one know that, or is it just the classic thing of a politician trying to be `cool'?
