Brown, Clancy

Clancy Brown

Clancy Brown was born on January 5, 1959 in Urbana, Ohio, US, to the owners of the local newspaper company, one of them Clarence J. 'Bud' Brown, Jr. (sixteen year US Rep in congress).  Brown's grandfather also served in congress, Clarence J. Brown and Brown's younger brother, Roy (CEO of Brown Publishing Co.), also ran for a Dayton congressional seat.   For many years the family was living near Washington, D. C. to accommodate Mr. Brown's congressional commitments.   During that time Clancy Brown attended St. Albans Prep School before heading off to college.

He attended Northwestern University (School of Speech) on a track scholarship, graduating with a BS in Speech/Theatre in 1981.  Since then Brown has worked steadily, what he calls "under the radar", with impressive results.

Brown is married to news producer Jeanne Johnson (1993 - present) and they have two children.
