Chato, Paul

Paul Chato

Paul Chato was born in Toronto Canada in 1954, his parents are Hungarian.  Chato attended Greenland Road Public School and then to Don Mills Collegiate and finally attended Ryerson's Radio Television Arts.

Chato started Chato Art Ink after graduating which became one of Toronto's most successful independent design firms.  He dropped the design gig to start a career as a comedian, forming the now legendary Frantics Comedy Troupe in 1979 with Rick Green, Dan Redican, and Peter Wildman in Toronto, Canada.  They had one successful season on CBC TV.

In 1989, after the split of the troupe, Paul became head of sitcoms at CBC TV and gave work to Mark McKinney and Kevin McDonald (Kids in the Hall) when they were penniless and hungry.  In 1989 Paul stopped working for CBC and formed his own multimedia company Electramedia...also called G & A Multimedia The Igneous Group, Inc.
He currently is a web media executive at Your Web Department (link below).

Paul is married, Ramona, and has two children, Hayley and Ellis.
