Quinn, Mike

Mike Quinn

From Mike Quinn's official site Quinn Zone Studios:

"Mike, born and raised in the U.K. had his early start in the industry in 1980. He was hand picked by Jim Henson to puppeteer alongside him and Frank Oz on The Great Muppet Caper and The Dark Crystal, in the latter performing one of the evil Skeksis. His third film was on the most successful film ever at that time, The Return Of The Jedi, assisting with Yoda and performing Nien Nunb, Lando's alien copilot in the Millennium Falcon.

Other film and television projects included the international co-productions of Fraggle Rock, The Storyteller, Labyrinth, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Little Shop Of Horrors, Muppet Christmas Carol, Muppet Treasure Island and many more films and Henson television shows.

In 1988 he co-owned a production company for ten years in the UK called Ultimate Animates, through which he and Dave Barclay developed the world's first digital puppeteer recording and playback system in 1991.
During that time Mike directed and produced many successful pilots and television shows, including directing and co-producing what might possibly be the U.K.'s first ever High Definition dramatic short film, for Sony in the early 1990's.

In the late 1990's he was head hunted by Pixar to animate characters for a Bug's Life (the world's first all digital feature from creation to delivery) and Toy Story 2. He later went on to animate the famed dinosaurs from Jurassic Park 3 and creatures, including Yoda for Star Wars: Attack Of The Clones, for ILM.

More recently he conquered the game industry, working on an MMO for NCSoft, RockBand 2 for the WII and PS2 and was lead animator on Bonk: Brink Of Extinction.

His longstanding career with the Muppets turned full circle with his current work on the box office hit film The Muppets, which achieved high acclaim from both critics and fans alike.

Other achievements include theater acting, having three motorcade parades in his honor at Disney MGM (now Disney Hollywood Studios) and performing in a live celebrity Muppet Show at the Hollywood Palace. Mike is also married to Jerri Quinn. They enjoy a wonderful magical life together along with an Egyptian Mau cat named Egypt."
